The Intensive Diabetes Program is a comprehensive 6-week program designed to help participants achieve glucose control and reduce complications associated with diabetes.  Clinical information and recommendations provided in the program follow guidelines of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists (AACE). Registered Dietitians, Certified Diabetes Educators, Pharmacists, and Podiatrists provide detailed information on all self-care guidelines and treatments for one hour each week.

The program is provided in a 6-week format to improve retention and comprehension of material and allow participants to ask more questions.  The extended format allows for improved scheduling of our dynamic guest speakers who have received standing ovations for their time and helpful information.  Also, the format allows participants to bring their glucose meters to class to download their readings into our computer system and have the Certified Diabetes Educator answer questions and/or problem solve with them each week.

Participants receive meal plans, shopping lists, recipes, a FREE glucose meter, and over 50 handouts to prevent diabetes complications.  Questions are encouraged by participants and guest speakers and patients who have achieved tight glucose control share their experiences to help participants lead a relatively normal, but healthy life with diabetes.

The Intensive Diabetes Program is provided throughout the year.  Click here for a list of current class offerings or contact us for the next program near you.  Although most insurance carriers cover our services, please contact us for your individual circumstances.
